While it was a bit scary and definitely got real close, it appears that the danger to the Laws Railroad Museum is past!
Whew!!!
Here's a midday today photo from a webcam up on Silver Peak, just to the east of Laws. You can see that the fire made it to the very north end (right) of Laws where the Sierra Plastics plant used to be and that building is still. The sort of curved and windy road coming at the camera is the Silver Canyon Rd. and the Laws Museum grounds are the closest thicket of trees immediately left of that road, so you can see how close the flames got from a couple of different directions. I haven't heard an all clear yet, but it certainly looks like the danger has passed!
