I always mix my MMO 20/1 or 25/1 and have also run with no problems at 15/1.

I like having fresh oil coming out through the exhaust.
This tells me with certainty that the engine is getting good cylinder lubrication which is critical with rubber O-rings on the pistons.

Jin provides extra O-rings with his engines however I have never needed to replace one.

@RedRyder what mix would you run in a little Red Wing? Asking for a friend… 😜

Nor have I, though I'd call it a sure bet that you have more hours on more engines than I do Gil!

YIKES!

That is expensive mate.

But you don't need much to do the job on Jin's little engines, so that investment should last you many a year, unless you really run the heck out of them!?!?

I'm using an Aussie version of 'white gas' Shellite.

The MMO was exxy at $50 bucks delivered for 473ml.

Bump What ratio do you guys use?

Not sure I succeed at maintaining a specific ratio. Perhaps something like 40 : 1 may be in the ballpark. If when running it seems to be exhausting a lot of oil, I use a bit less on the next load, while if it doesn't seem to be exhausting any oil, I will increase the amount added to the fuel.

BTW, I mostly use Coleman Fuel, which is essentially "White Gas" or otherwise known as camping stove and lantern fuel. I do have some Aviation Gas that has a fairly high octane rating, and still carries a little lead if I understand correctly, but hardly ever use it as it seems to offer no real advantage. Still, it is expensive fuel that I got for free (don't ask) so it does have some appeal, as long as I am careful in my use of it!
