Thanks one and all, every time I run one of these, they never fail to amaze me.
They also never fail to amaze a visitor and are quick and easy to take off a shelf to show someone running.

The sound of that in slo-mo was absolutely "Heavy Industrial" .... I like it.
Never destined to be a true working engine of any kind as the maximum pressure (read vacuum) they could possibly generate would be less than 14 PSI.
Nice video, rich in the details that are hard to catch by eye otherwise!!!

Nice video Jim. I've always found it fascinating the way these engines actually run. I have seen actual large working engines similar to this, & the amount of fuel they need to perform just wasn't feasible or economical to run.
