Good luck with the axle shaft, hopefully its not too hard and just take your time.
You'll be surprised how much power these have and how good they sound!

Thanks Jim!  You're so helpful.  I watched the video.  Fun!  I like your pulley mod.  Can't believe you could drive accessories off the engine.  Can't wait to get mine going. 

I still have to figure out how to straighten the shaft the flywheels are on.  One flywheel has a nasty wobble right now.

Hi,

I recently came into possession of a damaged and parts missing RETROL VE-1 engine for a great price (free -- long story).  Does anyone own one?  I have two questions.

1) What are the dimensions and thickness of the thin brass plate that opens and closes over the flame hole?
2) What is the threading and size of the cap for the alcohol reservoir?
