How does it compare in power to the same bore and stroke steam engine?

It is a near instant petrol put put fix Jim, i can't hardly walk be mine & if I make eye contact with it ...I'm gonna flip the switch on , adjust the carb knob & give it a flip over to get that oh so satisfying reward of it springing to life. ..then adjusting the carb knob back in a 1/4 turn and watch contentedly as she settles into a steady rhythm, then the wonderful "Zippo" lighter fluid smell wafts up to your nose...pure joy.

LOL I have them on my watch list. They have creeped up a bit higher in $$$ with all the attention that they are garnering.

A great video Bruce. So hard to hold off buying one of these, but, for once, I am trying to be patient to wait for the vertical to be released. I have watched Jin’s videos of it a number of times.

Nice to see it working hard Bruce!, i guess it used fuel up quicker and ran a bit hotter with that load.
there was next to no load for it at all Philip, it ran a little to fast (pulley ratio to high) and really moved a surprisingly large amount of air, the engine didnt seem to run any hotter & didnt have enough load to make the hit-n-miss stutter go away & run steadily.

Baker fans were something the Baker steam Works came up with in the early 1900s or before to work and break in their steam engines. The fan did not do anything but make the engine work. It did not measure HP anything else. The neat thing about them is that a small engine can turn them and a large engine can not turn them much faster. The fan just pumps more air but makes any engine work at their max HP. you can belt an H JD or a 30-60 Rumley Oil Pull to one and they both will work hard, but not kill either one.
