I wasn't trying to say there was a problem with the engines now coming in from overseas. In fact, I thought David's perspective (in the second post) was right on.  I just thought there was some interesting background worth sharing about a product that is seeing a considerable following right now.

Yes.... David published his plans in the public domain to share with anyone who wanted to build his little engine.


I agree with him that it is best they didn't grab his plans "hot off the press" when he first published them.

I bumped into this website today, and thought the group may find it interesting.  The first link is a page from a gentleman that designed and built his own Hit & Miss Engine (it may look pretty familiar) in the 2002 timeframe.  It includes plans to build his design.  Here it is:
