Nichols and Shepard purchased by Oliver tractor [attachimg=1]
The small white building in the top right corner and factory to the left is still standing
See it in this picture
-
Good one, Nick!
-
This building is gone but it was still up when I first moved to town. A couple of building are used for warehousing by a local trucking company
I remember a picture in the paper of the smoke stack demo. A company took it down with bulldozer. That takes. Lot of nerve

Here’s where the engine you drove was made. Just a few blocks from where I grew up
John Nichols was an outstanding early citizen of Battle Creek
Thanks, is that building still standing? There are a few still standing in MN that now have different uses, but the names are still at the top being built into the brickwork.

Yes, that certificate will be going on the wall in the steam room, the badge will allow me to be more involved at the show ;D
-
I'd be framing that certificate and hanging it on the wall .... heck, I'd probably be wearing the badge to bed if I had anything I'd want to pin it to?!?!
-
We also received a nice certificate and a personalized button upon completion 8)

Yes it was a lot of fun! Hope to go again next year...
-
Awesome. I bet that's a lot of fun.

It is interesting to see how the cylinder is mounted opposite to an english traction engine, looks like you enjoyed driving that Nick.
-
If you have middle school kids, they can learn on a half scale traction engine!!
I met a guy that lives only 15 miles from me at the school that bought a half scale Case last year. He displayed at 4 shows in 2018 and will be back at Forest City in 3 weeks powering a Carousel/Merry-Go-Round

I didn't get any video, but one of the others in my group got a few of me on the 1913, 25/85 Nichols & Shepard.
