Well if you do want to sell something... I'll buy something :)

What? You have a dozen but only ran a fraction of them?? What are you waiting for? :)

Back before I had a family and a house to pay for I was getting 3 to 4 packages in the mail a day, 2 or 3 accessories and 1 or 2 engines. I was working 90-105 hours a week (many 16 hour days) and had no time to do anything with them other than open them up and make sure they were dry and good for storage. I had an entire bedroom at my parents house with full shelves. As Walter pointed out to you when you mentioned the dust on his engines, it would be a full time job cleaning all of them... It took me nearly 2 years just to get the engines out of their house and moved over onto shelves. Someday I will get around to playing with them all and I have plenty of projects awaiting my retirement (if that ever happens  :D ) I have often thought of selling off a good portion of the collection to fund something larger, but I am no good at that and don't think I have sold ore than two dozen engines from the collection over the past 15 years.

I have yet to get a worn out Märklin compression/blow-by wise. Do all three of yours run well and generate power to light the lamps?
I have about a dozen in this style and have only ran 2 or 3 of them... but yes I am very happy with Märklin build quality, and please don't bid against me  ;) ;)  :D

I think Märklin has the best build quality of all the makes. (This is based on 3 TEs and 2 orphan stationaries.) I have a tatty one on the way so we will see if that continues...

Thanks Guys!

Nick, you can't go wrong with quality...if you ever want to sell one, they will have appreciated in value...nothing to lose on your part.

Rog, I'm not sure that I know how to do such a thing  ???  :D :D

So I now have the 4097/92/6,7, and 8 in this color scheme and a few in the earlier more colorful style.

Okay... okay... I will show you  :D

Daniel is the winner with Märklin  ;D

A 4097/92/6

Now why did I buy this when I don't need another? Because the asking price was less than what the dynamos bring on their own. My plan was to use it on my 4098/92/8 which has a metal fatigued dynamo cover and sell the engine which I thought was a duplicate...

However, on arrival I have now realized that the similar one I had here was the next size up... a 4097/92/7

German makers have sooooooo many similarities that it will just have to be a true guess ....  so I'll guess Marklin.

Well it's German.

Given the nice paint, Fleischmann?

You've got the right country and I think you are familiar with this maker  ;)

The maker should be an easy guess on this one  ;)

Double Boxed  :)

And seller took the time to tape cardboard triangles in the top corners of the box for extra protection. Nice to see some people still care  :)

Made a few recent purchases outside of ebay (from forum friends) that need to get posted, but here's the first "ebay engine arrival" I've had in awhile.

Was only an hour away, almost went and picked it up. Would have been nice to buy outside of ebay now that I am being charged sales tax  >:( >:(
