Purchased a ET1 and the fuel tank is missing the
filler hole Cap - plug. would any one be able to
know the thread size. With the thread size and
with the required die it should be easy to make.

Thank You  steamtoys  (RON)

It's M5 x .8.

Don't forget to drill that tiny through hole.

It's easy enough part to make, if you have the equipment.  It would be nice to be able to order individual parts, especially when they forget to send them with the engine. :)

Mine's been really working well, seems like I have all the bugs worked out.

Given the price of these things there's not a lot to complain about, but it would be nice if they came complete. I read somewhere that a guys came with no muffler.

Given your newest description i would agree that your ignition box is likely defective. I hope you are up and running soon!

The hall senser is2 wire and normally open until the magnet passes and it closes the circuit much like a set of points. My senser tested good. Since it shocked the hell out of me I  think it has a short between the primary and secondary coils mabey  a factory defect or maybe over heat I don't know. I have drilled ventilation holes in the box and will try using 2 batteries. I ordered spare for backup. If we were conceded about money we would not send it on these fun little toys. Thank everyone for the responses

Is it possible your ignition was just wired wrong and perhaps polarity backwards on your pick up connections?

I have ordered the single cylinder ignition accessories item from microcosm for 53 dollars. Its the system that came with the engine complete with a spark plug. Hopefully it will last a long time.

If you bought your engine direct from Jin, I would tell him how short of a time it lasted and see if there is any kind of deal he can give you on the parts...

It will not fire at tdc where it should, but anywhere in the rotation it fires about 4 times a second. Once when I touched on off switch it zapt me preaty good . The hall effect appears to normally open.when it closes at tdc the firing stops

Try adjusting the timing so that it starts firing where you want it - a little before top dead center on the compression stroke. If it fires for too long a time that should not matter as long as it doesn't keep firing after the exhaust stroke is complete.

On a sad note my ignition  has now failed .It fires all the way through rotation except where it should

How do you go about repairing something like this?

If anyone is still interested, my ET1 (Microcosm M90) gas tank socket head screws are:

M2 X 0.4 mm with 4mm of thread.

Thanks for the reply, but they are much smaller and I have no way to measure. By the way I love this engine...... Thanks again
