Title: A New Nameplate for my Stevens Dockyard Engine and a New Work Table for the Steam Cave
Post by: txlabman on August 11, 2019, 07:57:18 pm
A short video of the Nameplate I had VPRO make for my Stevens Dockyard Engine.

Also, I went to an Estate Sale this morning and bought a Computer Desk and a Tripod for $40. I repurposed the Computer Desk for my workspace in the Steam Cave. And I spent most of the day reorganizing some of my “Steam Stuff”

A fine nameplate for the Dockyard engine Charlie, & the computer desk looks exactly right in the steam Den.

The nameplate looks just right and the desk makes for a nice upgrade to your workspace - well done on both.

Great nameplate, engine, and work station. You've hit the Trifecta!

A nice work space is a treasured thing, Charlie. Looks like you've gained space and shelving as well.

The nameplate looks right nice with that beauty of an engine. Vpro does great work.

Thanks for all of the nice feedback.

The desk is very well made and, most importantly, it fit in the space (48" L x 20" D).  Previouosly, I had a small fold up plastic top table.

The bonus was that I was also able to re-purpose the keyboard tray for additional storage.  The problem with the keyboard tray was that it had no back on it.  So, I made one out of a couple of 1x2 blocks and some bits of moulding that I had in my "surplus".  I think the moulding came out of a neighbors trash bin.  8)

I also made one other improvement to the space which I will show once I have re-positioned some engines.

I am escaping the heat this week (it was 100F yesterday with a 118F heat index and heading out for a week to the mountains of New Mexico to attend the annual Santa Fe  Indian Market (link below) and for a few days of fly fishing with my wife on the San Juan River.

Thank you for the feedback Bob and Jan.

I am really enjoying my new work table and I have managed to fill up all of the shelves.

In the next couple weeks, I will film and post an updated workshop tour video. I have made a few additional enhancements to the workshop. 🤠
