Bonjour,
I am the happy owner of the third vertical Hit and Miss engine sent by Jin, and I have to confess, it was not obvious to start it because my engine does not run in the same clockwise than Jin's (but Gil's ones are like mine) and because the start button is also on the opposite position.

I have just a little concern with my engine, a little leak at the bottom of the water radiator due I guess to vibrations on a weak welding but I will solve this issue.

Thank you for your effort.
A proverb says "A picture is worth 1 000 words", this is why I like videos.
I spend a lot of time on YouTube and 99 % of the videos on our passion (or other topics) are in English.
French people are not familiar with English, I am alas well alone to share on steam so I keep my native langage even if YpuTube does not offer the possibility to translate French automatically.

I am very disappointed because my engine is facing two major problems that prevent it from working after 5 minutes of run (second test a week after my videos) :
- It has no more compression at all, I guess it is the O'ring problem evoked by Gil and solved later by Jin I think.
- The vertical moving part that blocks or not the exhaust cam has peeled off? In any case, it does not hold anymore. I have also to ask to Jin how to
block it again.
I Hope Jin will solve my problems.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble, Raphael! The loss of compression could be caused by your valve issue( which I don't quite understand, but a pic of it would help-as you say a picture is worth 1000 words indeed).
I hope you have contacted Jin already. He has always responded quickly when I have messaged him through forum PM.

I have sent a message to Jin, I am sure he will answer me. I don't think the compression issue is due to may valve issue. I have a picture but I do not know yet how to sher it, if someone could tell me how to share a picture, he is welcome ;D

Raphael, my single O ring was located in the top most groove of the piston and like you, I had zero compression. I switched the O ring to the other groove on the piston and problem was solved (I oiled it a bit and reassembled). I have more O rings on order, but for now, it is running well with this simple change.

Raphaël, it looks like your latch-out has rotated. These are secured through the crankcase with a bolt. It likely just came loose, but it also appears the steel piece on the brass carrier has also broken off in addition to the obvious damage to the flywheel.
This should be a lesson to us all- be sure to check torque on critical fasteners regularly. Being made of aluminum with steel bolts, I'd think no loctite was used. I did not use any when I reassembled, just torqued and plan to retorque later.

Hi Raphael, in your picture the flywheel surface looks damaged?.i can't figure out how the rotating flywheel can get damaged in a small area like that. or is it just a reflection onto the surfac?

That bolt is threaded in from the crank side...You would have to split the cases to access it, which means it has to be disassembled. Did the latch-out mechanism damage the flywheel when it rotated?
Gah, what a bummer. Sorry for your woes. I would say send it to me and I'll fix it, but I think the postage would be exorbitant.

Hopefully, the flywheel is not damaged, the traces that you see are the remnants of tape and its glue that I used to try to make a launcher without pulley.
Benny, one of my brothers in law lives in Birmingham, bad luck, I saw him on september i France, so you are right, it would cost me a lot to send it to you but is is VERY kind of you to have suggested it, many thanks again. And in fact, I do not reject this option, this engines worths it.
