Title: Dudley Diebold's Antique Tractor Collection Open House
Post by: RedRyder on October 20, 2019, 08:18:26 pm
On Saturday the 19th I drove just 31 miles to Roxbury Connecticut for the open house at Dudley Diebold's tractor collection at the Living History Farm at Toplands Farm. This place is one of Connecticut's real treasures.

I even got to ride on and drive a Huber traction engine with an unusual return flow boiler. (the only one I've ever seen on a traction engine)

I also had opportunity to re-visit Emory Campbell's 55 HP Blackstone Electric Lighting Engine which now has a new home at the Living History Farm Museum.

Here below are 4 videos of the event.

Enjoy,

Gil

Thanks, Nick. The Big 4 is a bit out of my league due to space and price limits!

Thanks, Nick. The Big 4 is a bit out of my league due to space and price limits!

Allan Severson's Big 4 brought $315,000 today  :o

Gil, don’t know if you have made it to the collection since this thread, but Gary Yaeger shared this picture of the 1912 110HP Case #28668 that Dudley bought (mentioned above). Picture is dated July 1949 - Lisbon, ND

(built in 1912 , not sold until 1917 to the Nims Brothers , Lisbon , ND ,,,,, Charlie Harrison acquired it in 1949 ,,,.. in later years sold to Sam and Dean Redd, Charleroi Pa,,,, sold to Willis R. Abel in 1968-69 ,,,, Willis sold it to Leo Smasel , Sedalia MIssouri in 2000 ..... moved to Rollag in 2012-13 by Mike Smasel ..... sold at Nixon auction to Dudley Diebold , Roxbury Connecticut where it is today ....the original extensions are a mystery ,,,,, Willis never had them when he bought the 110 ,,,,. So he fabricated a couple sets in 1987 ......)
