Title: Wilesco boiler , size difference's
Post by: St Paul Steam on October 18, 2020, 07:36:14 am
Hi folks
I know this information is out there somewhere ,but I'm having a hard time finding it, I'm interested in the boiler dimensions for Wilesco D16's and bigger steam plants, D18, D20, D22, D24, D28 & D32 any help would be appreciated.

Hope this helps Bruce?

D16:                      55mmx140mm (250ccm)
D18/D20/D21/D22: 65mmx165mm (500ccm)
D24:                      70mmx165mm (570ccm)
D28 and D32:         DonŽt have the exact measurements, as the cladding is significantly bigger than the boiler itself.
For instance D32 is 100x230 on the outside, boiler is 80mm X 175mm  but only holds approx. 1000ccm  (D28 approx. 900ccm as far as i recall?).

Howdy Bruce

Wilesco's home website lists their engines for sale with the specs you are seeking.

From the home web page, which should auto-translate for you, you'll want to click on the left-most choice "Stationary Steam Engines" on the red options bar near the top, and that will take you to the index page for the selected option. Then just click on the picture of the individual engine that you are interested in, and that page will come up. About half way to the bottom of each individual engine page is a set of graphic representations with dimensions for each key item identified!

Like this one for the  D-20:

......  and this one for the D-32:

Whoops ... looks like Jan beat me to the punch while I was sourcing and typing .... but here ya go anyway.

Thanks Jan & Daniel, using Daniel's direction I also found the D32's specification on Wilesco's website & added it to Jan's info above for compact one source information.

Wow Jan .... that is really the "Cats Meow" as far as parsing specifications on Wilesco steam engines!

Thanks for dragging that up from the Data Dungeons of Yore!!

If you don't object, think I'll copy this into some obscure corner of my computer's memory mausoleum, where it can be lost forever yet again!?!?

Guess iŽd have a hard time finding that special someone, whoŽd take a complaint from me seriously...since i just stole it myself (https://emoji.tapatalk-cdn.com/emoji23.png)(https://emoji.tapatalk-cdn.com/emoji28.png)

Jokes aside, it is well worth storing for future reference, so i added it to "The Library" here as well.

Jan ,I've said it before & I'll say it again....you are the best at finding old & forgotten posts for things just such as this.
