I can't recall if I have shown this one here before so a brief history: Bought new in 2015 and I made the boiler plus lamp, dynamo, dummy governor and assorted other bits but could never get it to run really well on steam until I was converted to gas a few years ago.
It was looking quite sad on the shelf today so I decided a good clean was in order, but discovered the dynamo bracket was coming adrift, so a good excuse was found to postpone the usual chores and fix it. A test run of course was required:

There was originally a glass cover over the LED's, Santa broke that.

My miniature Claus fell off the shelf above the engine and wilfully destroyed my lightbulb. Must have been naughty that year...

That looks and runs really good Dave. The boiler seems to keep up with the engine.

The engine doesn't need a huge amount of steam Tommy so there is ample reserve, with the burner on full pelt the safety valve will blow constantly, it's on about 2/3 in this video, the engine uses about 100 ml of water in a 15 minute run and I fill the boiler to 500ml so potentially will run for about 45 minutes with a decent safety margin.
I am surprised Jan that more engines don't have bells as well as whistles - or am I just weird?
The 'magic lamp' Arnold was probably a salad oil pourer in its previous life, it is now in use as the dedicated oiler for this engine and contains a good quantity of light oil. It came of course from a charity shop along with much of the other brass pieces, ie condenser, overflow pot, funnel/bell et al.

Thanks guys, I was really pleased to get this one for an affordable price when they were still auction listed on EBay, I haven't yet seen another one running on steam.
