The detail in your pictures is amazing Jim! I tried to take a couple of some Goldfinch (es?) the other day, but it was cloudy, the kids were noisy and I had to shoot through the window with not as big of a lens as I would like to have. They didn't turn out as nice as yours :-\

Thanks Nick, I do enjoy bird photography.
Post up the photos of your Goldfinches, I'd love to see them.
Here's a link to some more of my bird shots -

A beautiful picture Jim. I sometimes think some of mine aren't too bad until I come across ones like yours - they are really professional.
-
Thanks Larry, love to see some of your shots.

As I doubt (though I wish) I'll ever be in your part of the world Jim, I've always loved your photos. Thanks.

Thanks Nick. He was about 4 feet away. I was sitting in my Rocker on my porch. He was drying his feathers in the sun after a rain storm. I just happened to have my Cannon on the table. 🤠

Love the bokeh (blurred) background in the shots Nick.

Thanks Jim, didn't know that it had a name, but I like the effect. All I did was set my lens to manual focus and focused on the bird, the camera did the rest

Bokeh is something that 'togs really strive for Nick as it accentuates the focus on the main subject.

I like it for the same reason, and good to know that I am doing something right :D
