I agree.

I need to get good enough to lay a bead over about 1.5" to repair the heated end of a Stirling Cycle engine.

Picture coming.

Holy Cow ... what an impressive lineup!

Probably a good thing I wasn't at the show as I understand drool is actually quite corrosive!!

Now to clean up my keyboard .... good thing it is mostly plastic I suppose!?!?

You may have gotten a glimpse of these in one of Gil's videos, but here's a closer look. Since my first day of collecting many years ago, these have always been my favorites, but it was tough squeezing them all in. Maybe my second favorites next year--steam rollers! Video link below:

On thin material like that it might be better to do a series of spot welds rather than try to run a continuous bead.

I got a very basic 120 volt Tig welder 125 amp from Harbor Freight called the Titanium 125.

It doesn't require an inert gas but uses .030" flux core wire.

I thought I would practice on some unimportant steel to get the hang of it.

I watched a couple videos and after the first to attempts (pictures below) I am convinced that good welds require training and experience.

Here are the welder and my first 2 attempts:

He certainly was the first to share what he found. However, I assure you I was the first to find them, buy them, and verify with Jensen they were really Jensens.
I coin'ed the term the "Israeli 15" and did several YouTube videos sharing them.
