Hi Stoker,

Best get out the hoppers and flanger as it looks like there is a lot of ballasting to get done before the new track shifts. I suspect however that the Engineering Dept. would prefer a few more folks out with picks and shovels to complete that cut and finish the link-up.

We have a small Caterpillar digger and a self propelled wheel barrow so the link up shouldn't take long.  However the ballast (we do have two ballast wagons) and levelling will; not to mention the track circuiting and signals, the idea is to get it operational for public use next year.  There is still a lot of work to be done on the tramway which had to be moved to accommodate the new railway. The tramway is at least still operational. I am glad that I only have to be in charge of the garden railway!  Heaven knows how much ballast will be needed.

Take care Tony.
