[ Guests cannot view attachments ] Here is a catalog excerpt from the Steam Electric Co. circa 1930. They adapted Lionel locomotives to live steam with their electric boiler set up. Power for the heater was carried through the track, and a large 400 watt at 18 volts transformer was required to power the heating element. The arcing at the wheels must have been substantial! I have never seen evidence of one of these in existence and I have collected toy trains since 1973.
