19/01/19 Well another day on site at Tees Cottage, last working day, there was a derailment of the works train along the boiler house wall. This was caused by more rotten sleepers, with the ground dug out under the track, the rusted screw heads cut off. More sleepers were cut to length and treated to a dose of creosote. The untreaded sleepers are solid oak, these will last some time without any need for treatment. Also as an extra safety precaution. Metal sleeper ties have been welded in place. This will hold the gauge across the two track sections and prevent them from ever spreading again. This unfortunately has taken most of the day to complete this small section of track.
