Dixieland Old Engine Club Show
« on: May 21, 2024, 07:17:19 pm »
Here are some pics from the Dixieland Old Engine Club show held in Columbia, Mississippi on April 12-13, 2024. It was a fine spring day, and it was great reconnecting with some old engine buddies after an 8 year break (in 2016 our home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana flooded during a “1000 year” flood, and since we were out of our home and had no storage, I gifted most of my collection to 2 close friends). Sadly, the youngest member of our club is in his mid 40s. The younger generation doesn’t seem to have much interest in such things.

I didn’t haul a heavy engine to the show, but 6 model steam and sterling engines made the trip. They got a good bit of interest.

Happy steaming!

Looks like a great show in a very nice setting!

But please do tell me that Triple-Farmall in the last photo is just something that some wild-man dreamed up!?!?

The triple Farmall has been around for years, and certainly grabs the attention of new folks who attend the shows. I can’t recall hearing the story of how it came about, but I bet it’s a good story. We have another show in June, and I’ll ask about it then.  :)
