An interesting and intelligent perspective that makes logical sense .... but we are rapidly descending into chaos , which by definition doesn’t make much sense ...

We had a nearby rolling gun battle here over the weekend that was the result of a violent criminal assaulting a homeowner, it ended badly for the bad man. Then brother visited Chicago and he saw ——

Socialism works great ............ until you run out of other peoples money!

Check out Venezuela as a recent example of the "benefits" of Socialism, and this in the richest country in South America.

Social Security isn't actually Socialism, as it is pre-paid into, and thus supported, via a Free Market system of business/employment.

Socialism, by definition, is the government controlling the means of production, business/employment, and all decisions relating to same.

Communism, is the government owning all the means of production, and the employees as well.

Socialism is simply considered to be an intermediate step to Communism, and can only be allowed/tolerated until its ultimate goal is achieved.

Several of the Nordic countries, like Sweden and Denmark are often cited as being successful Socialist societies, but they are in fact the most unregulated Free Market economies on the planet, just highly taxed to support public programs. Were they not such Free Market powerhouses, the money to fund the public programs would not be there, causing collapse just like the hundreds of actual Socialist constructs have always done eventually.

Now perhaps I should go check out Flynn's letter to see what started this "discussion".

I could care less about a highly contagious but mostly survivable virus at this point................What is happening here? Anyone else feeling mighty ornery and so mad it makes your butt itch? Anyone wondering what you're fallback defensive position might be?

We may be on the verge of a new Dark Ages. Ignited by a Savonarola Zuckerberg Gates neo ‘bonfire of the vanities’ in our cities as social sacrifice for somebodies-lives-matter more than yours. Look down the vanishing point of the information superhighway and see if its leading us over the cliff like Wuhan bat flu diseased cyber-lemmings.
Civilizations’ tipping point into the abyss of perpetual mask wearing, straw banning, no big gulp drinks , no plastic bags,  and a daily purging & banning of things that are deemed un-politically correct and thusly offensive to the Hollywood social elites.

In the context of toy and model steam engines, perhaps a socialist wealth redistribution is in the future. Those who have many nice engine examples MUST share with those that do not?
 A carbon tax for any steam engine not 100% using renewable , sustainable, locally sourced, natural, non-GMO, gluten free energy.
Should we run tubes up cows arses to harvest cow-farts to run our engines thus saving the earth from Global Warming and appeasing a 16 year old Swedish kid and a 30 year old ex-bartender.
Beware professing steamy wrong-think to the eyes of the social media mob.
Take a knee before you steam, kowtow to your social overlords.
