Those Tamiya models are the best I've ever seen, and are far finer detail than the Heng Long RTR models that I have. Still, for stand off scale, the Heng Long's do look the part, and were rather inexpensive at the time, so running them over obstacles around the yard is far less worrisome, than were they precision scale detailed models.
But for display purposes, your beauties certain win hands down, just as that lovely Renault so well shows!
Thanks again.
Yes, I've been tempted by those Hen long tanks. They seem like a great value and look just
fine. My Tamiya tanks, I think, need new battery packs to get them running. I bought the kits back in the very early 2000s when the prices weren't so bad. I ordered them from an outfit in Hong Kong for about half the price tower hobbies was selling them for. I need to buy some parts for them; small detail parts like new machine gun assemblies for my pershing and Sherman (lost during my many moves). Tamiya's new M1 an Sheridan models are both subjects of my modeling daydreams. I also saw 1/16 t55 being sold by
a company called Hooben. That would be a interesting build.
