Bruce the local panel beaters around here must thank their lucky starts as the deer, wombats, the occasional cow and kangaroos and Wallabies are their bread and butter.
Jim, I had to look up "panel beater" & then it became abundantly clear...lol
The Australian term for panel beaters is panelbeaters 1. Panelbeaters repair damage to metal, fibreglass, and plastic bodywork on vehicles, and form replacement vehicle panels 1. They are also known as collision repairers

When reforming mildly deformed parts, or creating new parts from scratch, "Panel Beaters" typically use an "English Wheel" to form the sheet metal into the shapes needed.

English Wheels are heavily used in classic car restoration circles, where replacement parts are simply unavailable, unless they are new made individually!

I didn’t realize you guys have such an open season on hunting, here you can get extra deer tags for like $1.50 but I think they said numbers of hunters were down quite a bit this year. I see them nearly every day to and from work and have to hit my brakes at least a couple times a week, but this one came out of the ditch and all I seen was a blur.

Sorry to hear of the accident.  Been there, had that done to me.
A trooper came quickly to put it down and then we gave it to an
impoverished country family who lived down the road and knew how
to dress/harvest it.  I love it, no waste.

I grew up in the mid-Hudson Valley and deer were always a problem.
Starting in the 70's, it got worse and was so bad that even Vassar
college, a 'caring' institute, hired hunters in the late 90's to cull
dozens from their properties and other areas in Dutchess County.
My mother used to have a couple dozen in her yard in the mornings.
The danger, besides accidents, was LYME disease carried by the deer
and the Mid-Hudson valley was a hot point.  Anyway, perhaps 20 or
25 years ago a plague hit the deer population and now you hardly
see them anywhere.  Nature rules.

Good Luck,
Wayne

Its because they're introduced ferals Nick and millions of them and numbers exploding, they do a lot of damage to the bush. Even shooting them using helicopters hasn't made a dent in their numbers.

Like roos they are dumb around cars.

Coyotes are the problem around here, I used to trap a lot and many farmers thanked me, but I have heard the more you take, the faster they reproduce.

Hey Jim
Believe it or not we have heaps of feral deer up here in Brisbane. My wife and I had a near miss in her Mazda 2 last year with a big doe jumping out in front of us on our way to work at 7am!! It ran in front of us for a few meters before darting to the side...our little car would have been totalled if we had hit it. A motorcyclist wasnt so lucky in 2015, and ended up in hospital after hitting one in the same spot.

On another point... Panel beaters in Oz are also called "Smash Repairers"... kinda more logical I suppose. They also were called "Body Shops" last century before gyms became popular and assumed that name LOL.
