Dough GMail is the bomb,
I use it as my throwaway email, the only thing it doesn't like is sitting behind a VPN, otherwise I've been abusing gmail for spam and other things for years now.
My son and I have our own server which we pay for every couple of years so email is never an issue.
Gmail is pretty easy to set up, you just need to sit down and tick everything you don't want it to inform you off.
It will sync, do the cloud thing, etc etc etc. You will be informed about mothers Hubbard's cottage and the status of her witches britches if you don't switch stuff off.
My son has been using Gmail for his throwaway for years as well.
I wouldn't use Yahoo if they payed me.
