Just a quick update as things are still pretty hectic. We removed the carpet and padding, patched the drywall, brought a trailer load of bits and pieces every day down from our old house, painted the whole interior of the house with the exception of the guest bedroom that had the wallpaper removed and oil based primer applied which we're waiting for to dry completely, went over most of the woodwork with Howards Restor-A-Finish which really did a surprisingly good job of bringing it up to standards, contracted for all new windows and doors to be installed (12-15 weeks from now), changed out all the lighting to LEDs, started undercounter lighting in the kitchen, and made space for all our furniture and workshop equipment that the movers brought down yesterday. Ahead next Monday is the hardwood flooring installation with the remainder of carpet being laid the following week, probably starting to construct some walls in the basement for the workshop and train layout, and, I almost forgot, a double garage full of our stuff across the street being brought over and distributed. We've had lots of help so far and it's been great knowing everyone is happy we're here in Gahanna - makes a difference. It's been fun so far and being able to walk across the street like I did last night and watch my grandson, the aspiring pitcher, practice with his dad is priceless - lots of good times ahead for sure!
