Any updates Gil ? I hope you are all improving.
..
Hi Bruce et al, Thank you for asking. Yes there have been some improvements that required sacrificing the entire week. Yesterday I completed the 5 day course of Paxlovid (6 pills daily). My coughing has stopped almost completely. I still feel almost like a horse kicked me which is a lot better than early in the week when I felt like a team of horses kicked me. Most of the body aches are gone. I still sleep a lot more than normal for me and I tire easily. The medicinal-metallic taste in my mouth has mostly subsided after finishing the anti-viral meds. Still taking some dayquil and nyquil daily. Lost 10 lbs,,, a good thing for sure and just as surely a lousy way to lose weight. Simone is struggling a bit more with her new very restrictive diet after her major surgery on Sept 1. She has another day and a half of her anti-virals to take. Her coughing has slowed considerably and all vital signs are good.
Again... Thank you and may God bless each and every one of you.
Thanks for the update Gil and glad you guys are on the mend.
Also thanks for the update Gil , sounds like a tough time to be sure....but it is good news that you are (both) improving. Here's praying that you and Simone improve back to 100% and that this is a distant memory soon.
Thanks for the up date Gil,,Hope you and the Mrs are feeling better real soon..Need anything from me,,just let me know....
Gil, had not been on this site for a couple of weeks and now see that you and Simone have had a real go of it. Add me to those praying for you both to recover quickly.
all the best,
Rog
Thank you!
Among the worst things to occur were missing 3 shows, all important to me. The first was the big antique engine show in Dublin, NH in early September. Next was my 50th high school reunion which was finally held after 2 years of covid delays. The reunion superseded the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association annual 3 day show in Kent, CT.... just 40 minutes from our new home. The most recent on October 1st was the New England Wireless and Steam Museum's annual Yankee Steam-Up. This is a small but terrific show. This I missed after making an informed decision to avoid attending a show in my somewhat weakened state where it would be 50 degrees with howling wind and lots of rain all afternoon. I have attended this show in similar conditions in the past and loved every minute of it... just in a more healthy condition.
Today.... October 5th.... My endurance is beginning to return!
Gil
Thank you!

Thank Goodness for that anyway. I hope the same is true for Simone as well, as she had the double whammy of a serious operation and the Wuhan Flu.
Sorry you had to miss some favorite shows, but discretion is almost certainly the better choice at this juncture!
Continued best wishes for you both!!!
Prayers for continuing strength and health improvements.
