Daniel there's a lot to be said about living near National Parks that's for sure.
We live in one, and are surrounded by National Parks.....to the West of us there isn't much but wild emptiness and to the East of us.....well New Zealand!
Land biters and land slitherers, as an Aussie you get used to all the spiders, snakes, leeches, ticks etc (hate ticks, our paralysis ticks are have a toxin and kill thousands of dogs and cats a year and ain't to good for adults and very bad news for children. They are carried by all our native animals that are immune to the toxin)....but what I really don't like is the marine stingers that we have a bountiful supply of in many shapes and sizes and levels of danger. And sharks, I lived to surf when I was younger and had some hairy moments with BIG sharks. SCUBA diving and sharks....not so much of a worry, but sitting on a board waiting for the next set of waves and having your legs dangling...everyone thinks of sharks down here!!!
