My Doll Collection
« on: December 12, 2019, 09:25:04 pm »
We always tease each other when someone makes a post about their Doll (Doll et Cie), but this time I really am posting a doll collection!

Today would be my Great-Grandma Elna's 107th birthday, I always thought it was neat that she was born on 12-12-12. Many have never met a great-grandparent, but I was lucky to know four of mine and had her with us till I was 27 and she was 103. We do not know when she was given these dolls, but I would assume we can say that they are over 100 years old now. They do not have much monetary value and the clothes are replacements made by my great-great-grandma Clara. The larger one has a porcelain head and the legs/arms look to be wood fibers? and the smaller one is all porcelain or something? At the rate we are going with 3 boys, looks like I am going to have to wait for a granddaughter to pass these on to  :D

Here we are in 2013 and 2014 (she would be 101 & 102), her last "outing" was in 2015 at my wedding. She never had to move into the nursing home, always lived on her own in an apartment connected to the nursing home and in her final months was moved to "assisted living". HAPPY BIRTHDAY Great-Grandma!
