That shovel is actually a Thew Type “O” horizontal crowd shovel. The boom is unmistakable. Thew shovels were built in Lorain, Ohio, about 15 minutes from where I live.

Ah. Now that I look closely at the boom I see that this is not an Erie B after all. Thanks for the ID.
