Ep dynamo/motor
« on: May 12, 2019, 03:02:20 pm »
Not long ago I got hold of an Ernst Plank dynamo/motor.
Just gave it a good clean.

As a motor it already started to run wit a 1.5 V AA battery.

this week a second EP generator/motor joined the collection.
It's also in Wonderfull condition, just needed a good clean up.
Ages of dust and dirt, and the nickel turned black.
So took it appart clean the contacts and bended the contact plates back strait.
Gave the nickel a polish and here it is…

I tested it as a motor and a 2V it starts to run.
To video it I took 2X 1.5V.
Sorry for the shaked video, but holding a battery and filming is not so easy

Cheers,
Danny

Danny, those are both beautiful engines/dynamos...amazing how smooth they run after all these years as they must be 100 years old I'm guessing.

thanks for sharing, I have never seen either piece before.

Very nice Danny, I wasn’t aware of these types of Dyno/motors until I acquired one at a public auction no body new what it was they didn’t even no how to advertise it. Mfg. by H-K.

Worked out good for me. Had to check myself though I could already feel the addiction coming, lol.

Two incredible treasures that cleaned up well.

Thanks for posting the pictures and videos Danny.

You did a great job cleaning them up.

Amazing that the decal/lettering on the first one survived in such nice condition.

Hi Danny I have never seen any of these dynamo/motors before, but they are beautiful in every way and very smooth while running.
Keep on steaming

As everyone has said, fantastic additions to your collection, and what nice and interesting additions they are!

Great job on the video, while doing the balancing act with the batteries .... perhaps you should consider a career as a juggler?!?!
