I pulled out my three Jensen 35’s after watching Mike @Junkologist’s video the other day.  And I decided to clean up the worst of the three.

All I did was clean it up a bit.  The original safety valve is still in ICU.  And I need to find a whistle handle in my spare parts and replace the electric cord (which is missing). It runs on just a few psi.

Very nice, Charlie!
The brass tag 35 with the small hub cast iron flywheel is quite rare by my observations. Seeing yours today, I have only ever seen four of these engines, but only two with the wider flywheel rim like yours. The other two have a narrow rim like the diecast flywheel.
I have two of these bras tag 35s with the small hub cast iron flywheel, one narrow and the other one is wider like yours, and I just got it yesterday! Lol
I’ll take some photos of my engines and post them a bit later.

Nice lineup Charlie, didn’t know you had that early one! 😍

I know I have a couple heavy flywheel 35’s, but not sure if I have any with me… off to check now for Mike’s research to write his book on Jensen 😜

Found one here, pretty sure I have another elsewhere… this must be a large hub? I also noticed my crank pin is not slotted for a screwdriver where Charlie’s is.

Here’s one that I think went to Jan? I sold it after getting a Forgotten 35 when I was at a point where I thought one 35 was enough to own since the collection was getting too big… but now I’m back to a half a dozen or so 35’s… 😂

That is definitely a large hub flywheel and could be transplanted directly to a model 5 or 25. That engine strikes me as unusual since I can’t remember ever seeing a later brass tag 35 with that flywheel. The ones I’ve seen are earlier with the Jensen decal and what I call the “herringbone” cord.

Very nice line-up of 35s.

I love looking at all the heavy cast iron flywheel models.

Here’s my two brass tag 35s with small hub cast iron flywheels, one narrow and one wide. The only other one I’ve seen besides these two and Charlie’s, is an engine in a YouTube video.
The often overlooked 35 can be quite interesting when given a closer look.

So what kind of crank pins do yours have? Slotted for screwdriver or no slot?

All the differences are exactly why I have thirteen 35s. 🤣🤣

I believe mine are mostly all slotted except for the very early ones.

I sold it to you and then you sold it to Jan. I remember having a conversation about how that engine was really racking up the miles. 🤣🤣

Well that just makes it stranger being my non-slotted pin is on my brass tag…  :D

We’ll have to ask Jan what his engine has since that has a decal…
