At the end of the day I  have 4 choices
Preservation
Restoration
Resurrection
Leave it alone

Preservation

Leave it as is and maybe replace missing bit with genuine

Restoration

Clean , repaint and source genuine pieces

Resurrection

Rebuild and make any missing pieces  and repaint

Leave it alone

Obvious here either complete working original or
a box of bits unsure what to do with

 I tend to leave alone or resurrection
Why resurection ? Because i tend to buy bits and pieces because cheaper and also availability.
The ironic thing is i have spent thousands $ buys tools , machinary and supplies to do said  resurrections
 I get more satisfaction from getting a box of pieces running again than chasing a mint perfect example
