Empire No. 90 with B43 throttle
« on: September 22, 2022, 12:09:15 pm »
I just got in a B43 basket case.  Surprisingly, the heater
reads the correct resistance - about 35 ohms.

I removed the throttle from the B43, the whistle from my
No. 90, and put the throttle where the whistle belonged.
It works reasonably well though it will not shut off completely,
so I'm pleased.  I added some pix and a video run just for
fun.  That is what this is all about.

One question.  I'd like to remove the whistle bushing from
the B43 boiler, and I've tried the butane and propane torches.
Neither seemed to work other than to allow me to remove some
of the original solder.  That is not good enough.  If I can
get it loose, or buy its equivalent, I'd mount it in the middle
of the 90 boiler for the whistle.  Too cool, I think.

So, any ideas on removing the bushing?
