Got this Jensen 20 off ebay recently and the steam chest needs to be soldered back onto the cylinder. Basically received it with a crack and my attempt to heat it up with a torch and re-sweat it didnt go well. Am thinking some here have had similar but more successful experience. Any tips/tricks would be much appreciated as I dont have much in the way of skills/tools. Thanks!!
I had the same problem with a Maerklin Cylinder. All you need is to fix the 2 parts in
perfect position and add Flux for soldering. Then simply warm up evenly until the solder is absorbed.
