Marvel Mystery Oil - Question
« on: August 15, 2024, 07:03:18 pm »
Is this the same Marvel Mystery Oil that you Northern hemisphere cousins use in your mix for model & hit miss engines?

If it is the same, what's the benefit over a good outboard oil?

Certainly, the packaging looks like the same stuff. I think it is a fair amount lighter and more easily mixed in with various fuels, but I also think that I have heard that some have used it as two-cycle oil as well.

So, the real answer that I have for your question is ......... I don't know!

Thanks Daniel, when I got my H&M engines all you blokes in the good ol' US of A where talking about MMO and I searched high and low for it down here to no avail.
I was surprised to see it on Aussie eBay yesterday.

These are areas, that by design, motor oil does not reach. Using Marvel Mystery Oil in your fuel extends the life of these vital components by providing them with lubrication that fuel alone does n...

That's hellish expensive though Mate. I can buy a gallon for less than that, even figuring the conversion. A pint typically costs about $7-10 US here.

Its free postage (so that would be around $12) and you have to remember this was brought by sea to Australia and its evilbay.

Bonjour Jim,

In France, a very interesting gasoline for our Hit & miss engines is a very clean one called "Alkylate", it can be found on Amazon :
Amazon
amazon.fr
and I am sure elsewhere.
