I wonder if the burrs you raised might eat the belting. Perhaps just a bit of smoothing out of the sharp tops of those new burrs, so there is still a gripping texture, but without the truly sharp little burr edges?

Be interesting to see how it goes with some green belting over an hour or so.Be a couple of days till I get to try that as its late Friday arvo here and my weekend is pretty booked.

Probably just an overactive imagination on my part .... hope it works splendid for you mate!
