Bruce, you da man for sure.  I monitor eBay regularly and have caught my share of deals...but THAT is the best deal I have ever seen and we all know that version is a virtual steam unicorn.

Glad it went to you my friend.

Thanks everybody,  I know full well it was just a matter of fortunate timing & Maybe a bit of luck that I was able to land it, it could have been any one of you to have happened on it before I did. I would love to know when the seller listed it ...to see how long it was posted before it was purchased ? I would ask the seller but he's not the replying kind 😕

Congratulations, Bruce ...!!!
YOU SURE HIT THE JACKPOT WITH THAT ONE...!!!

By the way, if any of you need a re-charge for Jensen or other magnets of similar size or larger, I have a magnet charger. Just send to me with a return postage label. I will return your magnet nicely refreshed.

Gil ,is this something that is easily transported to Cabin Fever? And do I have to  disassemble the unit in order to charge the magnet ?

I suppose it could be transported.
It requires use of a strong car battery.

You must remove it from the genset.
Take pictures first to verify exact location and direction on base casting.

thanks Gil, I believe I'll leave it as is...I don't have the heart to disassemble something that more than likely a 34yr old Tom Jensen (probably not even a Sr. yet) assembled by hand , I'll leave it untouched.

Even a weak magnet can do a good job lighting the bulb so no real need.

Hey Bruce

As long as you've brought this thread back to the front, let me suggest that a couple of strong rare earth magnets attached (just stuck on) on opposite legs of the horseshoe ("U") shaped magnet, should boost your power output noticeably without actually altering the original unit in any way.

This still qualifies as a really amazing deal, and I'm still shaking my head over it .... but it couldn't have gone to a better person, and I'm delighted that you have shared it with us all so well !
