Another Hit and Miss video by Jin Microcosm of China
« on: April 05, 2019, 07:06:16 pm »
Well, my little Hit and Miss arrived extremely well packed (just as seen in Bruce SPS video)...just took 7 days door to door via DHL.  Very pleased with the rapid delivery and could not be more pleased with the engine itself.

- machine work is superb...roller bearings where needed, nice brass gear train

- though I checked each hex head screw...every one was snug, just like you would want it

- for fuel, I used Zippo lighter fluid and Marvel Mystery Oil in a 10 to 2 ratio...making up a total of 12 ml of mix in a syringe

- squirted syringeworth of fuel into the brass fuel tank, massaged the clear fuel line beneath to work bubbles out

- closed screw on top of carb by turning to the right til it stopped, marked that position, then opened it about 1/2 turn

- oiled all the moving bits with my standard pin, bearing and journal oil used on non-steam contact moving parts

- oiled the tip of a Qtip (cotton bud) with some lightweight oil branded ZOOM, and coated cylinder walls from the open rear

- grabbed the flywheel with the brass gear train attached and spun it firmly to the right while hold engine base

- it fired right up, first time.  I fine tuned speed with the marked carb screw, making tiny adjustments

- ran it 20 minutes grinning from ear to ear...here is my YouTube video of tonite's first firing:

enjoy,
Rog

ps...if you don't already have a hit and miss engine (this was my first)...get one of these, you won't regret it

truly fun & addictive little engine Rog, thanks for the video....btw your on/off toggle switch is opposite of mine ....lol , the switch uniformity from the factory obviously wasn't a concern, so i guess its a crap shoot at which way is "on" when you get your engine, just look for the spark when flipping it over folks  :)

Mine fired really easily too. Why do these things make you chuckle and grin when you first fire them up? My wife thinks it's the cutest thing going. She laughs when I crank it up. They kind of have the same feel good thing as a steam engine. Just cool to see a little engine acting like a big one.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.

Great to see your engine running so well Rog, hope you manage to get the oil stains from your shirt!

Interesting to see you can get the large cans of zippo fuel where you are and the engine certainly runs very well on it.

Quite a few of these machines on the forum now!

Alan, I believe the engines named "Eachine" and sold by BangGood are the same as those we've purchased off eBay from Jin of Microcosm.  All the silver looking ones are the same, but the blue ones are an earlier version and somewhat different.
My silver one starts easily by hand, turning clockwise on the wheel next to the brass gear train.

I hope yours comes soon from BangGood...they seem to willingly take orders, but actually shipping the engines is a different story.  At least I hear BangGood is fair about refunding money if shipment is delayed too much.  I too have a BangGood engine with the "eachine" logo on order...it was a gamble to see which got here first...Jin's machine came in 7 days and it's a wonderful piece of machining.

I found the Eachine on ebay listed from $299 to nearly $400, I made an offer and got it for $295... seller wouldn't go any cheaper as he said he's already the lowest on ebay. Like you, I am hoping they are the same model and run just as well as all of them on the forum...

No confirmation of shipping and estimated delivery of April 24th-May 6th. I see they have also raised the price by $20

I tried to order from Banggood and finally gave up as they never had the product to ship.  Got a refund, and went shopping on Ebay.  Ended up paying more ($335 plus shipping) in one of Jin's auctions, but the engine shipped quickly, and DHL is saying they will deliver it Friday......that would be 8 days from the auction close.  I hope eachine has doesn't pull a Banggood to you.  Best of luck with your purchase.
