Cotswold Heritage Perseus right out of the box
« on: March 08, 2021, 06:44:04 pm »
Was a bit stiff as I don’t think it’s been ran in awhile. It needs a light cleaning, has some steam oil residue all over and the flywheel has some light surface rust. It got too dark for any more video and it was getting too cold for my gas mix, so had to call it quits for the evening... Will try and get more video tomorrow afternoon as it looks like another nice day...

Had to take the chuff enhancer out right away as it was getting the neighbor dog pretty excited 😂  Has a nice chuff without one installed.

That'll cleanup and smooth out nicely. Did all your snow melt?

That really is a very very nice plant Nick and travelled very well, the Cotswold base sets it the engine and boiler off really well and the boys have given it their collective approval :)

Some TLC and it will come up wonderfully. That was a quick delivery!

Not quite yet, but won’t have much after tomorrow... I blow half the yard into a pile for the kids to play in and it’s nice because it gives us a dry spot in the yard right away in the spring.

I have always wanted a Perseus and have passed on a few stand-alone engines, but having the plant all on a compact base is a very nice bonus  ;D  Thanks again for talking me into it  :D

Very quick, 5 days from Down Under, but fast shipping doesn’t come cheap! 😬

Very nice plant Nick , those Cotswold engines are great runners , I had a Gryphon twin that I kick myself for ever selling off.

Thanks Arnold, the first operator burnt his fingers, that’s why he was saying it’s better with your shirt on your hand  :D

Thanks Jan  :)  Hope to add more from Cotswold Heritage someday...

Thanks Daniel, I’ve been trying to find a few plants like these that are easy to take to shows and keep running all day.  :)

I know there is a connection with Reeves, but wasn’t sure what it exactly was... I don’t think Cotswold Heritage is in business anymore, but I may be wrong?

Thanks for that picture I will have to save that.

I’m glad the engine in your link is sold long ago so I don’t have to try to get it 😂
