First model of the Hit & Miss line from Jin I think, but yours is almost identical to mine, which is a fairly early one. Only difference I note is that yours has a starter cord and pulley for it on the off-side flywheel which mine doesn't have .... but I've yet to feel the need for it on this simple basic model. Mine started up right away as well as I remember it, though I doubt it was on the very first flick, as I didn't have all the background of priming and other experience that is available out there now. I do have many hours on mine now, and some rather impressively long continuous runs, once I got it slowed down and only hitting occasionally. I think my best so far has it hitting about once every second, or just a little under 60 hits per minute, but Gil has tuned his down to only about 50 hits per minute if my memory serves.

Fun engines, and lots to do to keep them interesting ...... but I still prefer steam and Stirlings, though as an interesting diversion, this engine has been worth its rather modest price for quality received, to be sure!
