I would think that Coleman fuel (white gas) would likely be the best bet, as it is essentially "pure" gasoline without any additives, and specifically intended for burning in places where people and foodstuffs would be exposed, thus producing a minimum of exhaust fume odors.
I'm very open to alternative fuels as well, Coleman fuel  sounds real good and I will give it a try this weekend , I think WD40 might be a tad expensive.
