NICE !!!  ....  I especially like the controlled flame positioning system, as that seems really critical to get the best out of a vacuum engine.

Thanks Daniel, I reckon James came up with a very clever method with that system of flame control.

I only have one flame licker, a Solar Engines #3, and it is a dandy, but I find positioning of the flame relative to the port is hyper critical for good performance, and mine offers nothing in the way of precision adjustment, such as does your Maiwald.

I may have to look into this issue and see what I can adapt that might offer an improvement along those lines!?!?

Daniel, I'm pretty sure it was Rog who worked out a way with his Solar Engines #3 by putting some of that thin magnet (fridge magnet) on the bottom of hie burner so that it wouldn't move around.

Yes and I've done that, which helps to a degree, but isn't the end all be all. There also seems to be a height issue as to how far above the wick the port should be. Perhaps I'll let you inspire me to revisit this issue, in the midst of so many other key projects currently on the front burners here!?!?
