A film crew visit my model club.
« on: May 21, 2025, 03:09:37 am »
Hi,

Instead of playing in my shed on Tuesdays with a friend I often go and do some work on the garden railway of the model club we both belong to.  Today we had a visit from a film crew that were making a Welsh language programme for  four to six year old children as we are both in our second or even more childhood we thought we would attend. A bit of a video of the event attached.

Take care Tony.

That's great Tony ..... I hope it gives your club some good exposure and brings in an appreciative crowd!

Was the young gal being featured actually a member of your club, or the film crew? Seems she knew what she was doing operating the engine, so I'm hoping she is a club member.

Hi Daniel,

The young lady is an actor, we do have some lady members that are drivers.  The locomotive is petrol hydraulic with vacuum brakes. The young lady was a quick learner having had about 15 minutes tuition. It isn't a difficult locomotive to drive, there were no other trains on the system and she wasn't driving over any of the grades.  With a loaded train and wet rails it can be difficult to stop exactly where you wish. We have two open days as it is a Bank Holiday this weekend, maybe we should have asked her to come and play.

Take care Tony.
