Handmade from a Midwest kit, with all scratch built linkages, etc.

Now that's something you definitely don't see just everyday!

How nice is that!?!?

Good question Nick .... I'd like to see the operator in operation!

That's a great boat! Really agile but I'll bet it took some practice when you first started.

So cool, thanks for sharing !

I assume that it is programmed, to be operated by a standard controller, with forward, reverse and left, right found on single pins...or do you have to work each oar separately yourself?
Cheers

I hope I didn't mislead anyone! There is an electronic controller that interprets the stick movements (fwd, rev, left, right) and then makes the appropriate action to the oars servo motors. It was designed and assembled by a gent in the UK and he named it the "Rowbot". It's a tiny black box.

But all the servo assembly, and control rods etc, you must build yourself.

I always wanted an RC rowboat, and was thrilled to build this one for myself. :)

Didn't mislead anyone Tom ... I just wanted to know how it was done. If just straight linkage from two transmitter controls, I would assume you would be a very busy operator, with the chance for a lot of confusion ... but still doable once you get your coordination down, much like tank driving!

However it is being done .... it is Very, Very COOL!!!

Do you have a link to the makers site for the electronics
I remember talking to a guy at the Harrogate model show who had two skeletons in the boat it used a pic for control
The original model was built for use in a film I think a Wind in the Willows type
Very nice work congratulation
cheers
