Two Big Marklin Engines Added to my Collection
« on: April 02, 2021, 06:24:26 pm »
I am very excited to have added two rare Marklin engines to my collection.

I now have four of the largest Marklin Engines....and I don’t have room for any more. 🤠

Three of the large Marklin Engines have passed through the Office of Steam in the past.

Marklin 4147/11 Ships Engine:

Marklin 4159/11/94:

Marklin 4158/11/91 Twin Compound:

The Fourth is the Marklin Hammer Engine 4124/14.  I still need to make a video of it under steam.

Those are just fantastic Charlie.  Each one in its own right a thing of beauty and the stuff dreams are made of. Congratulations on the "Bigs"

Thanks Nick and Bruce.

I never thought I would end up with all four of these.

And impressive that Gil owned three of the four at one time.

Now I need to build (have built) a proper cabinet for the four of them.

The hot air engine was also owned by Gil at one time.

I guess all roads lead through Gil when it comes to rare Toy Steam Engines. 🤠

;D ;D ;D

I don't know if it will ever happen again..... Your Marklin Stirling Cycle Engine actually self-started one time only!

Charlie .... of course you have the room needed to add more big Marklin engines .... you simply need to send a bunch of your other engines to me and then you'll have plenty of room!   ;c)

Superb additions to your super fine collection Charlie ..... Major Congratulations!!!

Thank you Jan.

I am hoping Gil will provide the history of the three engines that have passed through his hands.  They are all three excellent stories.

Thanks for the video Charlie. Somehow those engines look vaguely familiar. I would have never sold the hot air engine except for the miracle of a duplicate coming my way. A lot of work went into it since Gil owned it.

Here is your Marklin 4102 hot air engine before I turned it over to Brent who gave it a very thoughtful restoration.

At the very beginning of this video, it actually self started!

I was quite surprised and I never saw it do that again.... much as I may have tried for a repeat performance.

Thanks Brent.

It was definitely worth the drive from Texas to Kentucky. 🤠

Thank you for your hospitality and giving me the opportunity to buy the Marklin Hot Air Engine.

I hope you will post pictures/video of the engine that I delivered to you.
