Fantastic mods Bruce (and Angie), well done !!!

I´ve replaced a flue tube quite similar some years ago, but i took the easy approach for the removal process, and simply drilled the lower end out with a conical drill bit, making it an easy one-man job to unsolder the upper end.
I never thought about drilling it (good idea) on this type of particular boiler I'm not sure that would work well. after I finally the flue pipe out , I could  see why I had more difficulty than I expected...Wilesco punches out the hole while leaving an approx 3/16" lip that they fold inward to assist in firmly  holding the flue pipe in place for soldering.
