Jensen #20G (brass tag) riveted boiler live steam engine "Sold"
« on: December 01, 2024, 07:23:27 pm »
Hello fellow steamers
I did a full "nuclear" restoration on her (3 yrs ago). it was missing the smokestack support, chimney, heater, pwr cord, rev spring, both springs in the SV & whistle were broken as well. I totally stripped all the hardware of the cast iron bases & bead blasted them & reshot them with the period correct Jensen dark blue I added two functioning oil cups on the engine & generator (which is now also a transmission) I fabricated a new smoke stack support (thanks Jan & Howard for your help) also a smokestack of the correct size & configuration. it's got a new heater & 3/16 AWG grounded cord. the new 3" Riveted boiler is a Jed P vintage heavy-duty riveted unit. it runs very well at just over 1psi in either direction. price is $1200 plus actual shipping (it's fairly heavy) this is one of the best running #20's I've had the pleasure of owning.

That sure was a pretty set up. Bruce, what was this about the boiler?
Is this someone who is making riveted boilers?
If so, how to contact him.

It was made by forum member GearheadJed Jed P. (I won't give his last name without permission) I don't believe he is making them currently, but his boilers are superior to Jensen's with 3 machined ports in the top. All of his boilers that were Nickel plated came through my SPS shop. 😊
