Carette water elevator (for live steam engine. - SOLD-
« on: September 13, 2019, 04:30:37 pm »
this is a very fun Carette water tin toy, she stands 7 3/4" tall & the base is 9.3/4" X 5.7/8"" & weighs 1 lb. 8 oz.'s , it has probably 70 + % of its paint & operates well....scooping water out of the base with its 8 water buckets, proceeding to a tip bar & releasing the water into a hopper & back down into the base. I did a leak test & the base reservoir is 100% sound, I made a brass tub funnel , this greatly helped guide the water into the main tank instead of sometimes along the side of the structure & down the rails & can be popped out in seconds if so desired. this is a very tight & smooth running accessory considering that it is at least 102 yrs old, Carette was in business from 1886-1917. this water toy operates very well & can be hand cranked or powered by a live steam engine.

price is $300 + shipping (almost what I gave for it without the repairs performed) anywhere in the US only

That's a beautiful dredge, Bruce- and the price is right! A shame I can't get in on it- I blew my discretionary funds at the auction.
Good luck- if it hasn't left by the time I work up some spare change I may take you up on it.

Benny:

It ended up with me.

It's a really nice accessory.

Bruce's enhancements are great.

Planning on making a video of it soon.
