Cigar box Rider-Ericsson hot air engine
« on: April 08, 2022, 02:00:28 pm »
As far as I know this is the smallest scale model Ericsson engine ever made. I take no credit as it was made by a friend who passed away in 2019. The engine heats up quickly under load but can be kept going by occasionally dropping an ice cube in the water tank.

Really nice Brent!

Your solution for the burner is exquisite.

I saw this in person a couple weeks ago when I visited Brent.

It is really a finely made mini-Ryder.

Great little Ericsson Brent.

You wouldn't happen to know what became of the Patterns that Wade used when he cast these?

Thanks for your comments.

Jim, the patterns weren't among the things in Wade's estate, so I don't know what happened to them. His "kits" also didn't include things like the beam, linkages, firebox, displacer, etc.
