I have so been looking forward to see these, fantastic looking examples the both of them.

So cool that you have both known versions (screws/rivets and screws only)...so far.
Had you noticed the difference yourself, until this came up?

My pleasure Jan, glad to be of help.  To be honest I had not noticed the rivet and screw mix until it was pointed out on here. 

I had noticed the older black box #20's use the single screw and plate on their "open" valve chest.

I guess they had never seen it before. So they just thought it was modified at some point. Plus I have been known to change and modify things a little bit myself. Like the 20R I built. ::)

All right you guys .... now I'm going to have to go and dig a few of my #20's out to see what I have in this regard, though I'm pretty sure I don't have any of these special features, for I'm certain that if I had, I'd have noticed, and noted them on my file cards.
